Research on Reducing Shrinkage Behavior of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Geopolymers Using Polymer Materials

چکیده
Geopolymers are a new type of environmentally friendly cement-based material with serious drying shrinkage problems. In order to overcome this problem and improve the engineering performance durability geopolymers, in study we added 0%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, 0.9% polymer materials, namely, polyacrylamide, sodium polyacrylate, tetraborate, respectively, geopolymers reduce their degree shrinkage. We also assessed changes length determine how addition materials could The results indicate that 0.7% tetraborate yielded most favored shrinkage, and, through imaging technology, crack change at age 0–3 days was measured, during which polyacrylamide (PAM) effectively slowed down dimensions propagation by 0.47% compared control group.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...
متن کاملSoil Stabilisation Using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
Stabilisation is a broad sense for the various methods employed and modifying the properties of a soil to improve its engineering performance and used for a variety of engineering works. In today‟s day soil stabilisation is the major problem for civil engineers, either for construction of road and also for increasing the strength or stability of soil and reduces the construction cost. In this t...
متن کاملRemoval of Hexavalent Chromium in Portland Cement Using Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag Powder
Using ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) under different alkaline conditions, we studied the mechanisms and extents of Cr(VI) reduction and sorption and compared them to reactions with Portland cement (PC). We also investigated the effects of mixing PC/GGBS ratios on Cr(VI) dissolution after carbonating the substrates. We observed a complete sorption and reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) ...
متن کاملProperties of Cement Pastes Doped with Very High Amounts of Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag
In the current work, the properties of cement pastes doped with high amounts of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (HVS) were investigated. Portland cement (PC) was substituted with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (donated as slag) at very high amounts of 85%, 90%, 95% and 100%, by weight. PC paste without any content of slag was used as a reference. Some fresh and hardened properties su...
متن کاملProperties of Foamed Mortar Prepared with Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag
Foamed mortar with a density of 1300 kg/m³ was prepared. In the initial laboratory trials, water-to-cement (w/c) ratios ranging from 0.54 to 0.64 were tested to determine the optimal value for foamed mortar corresponding to the highest compressive strength without compromising its fresh state properties. With the obtained optimal w/c ratio of 0.56, two types of foamed mortar were prepared, name...
